Methuen's Forest Lake

Mission
The Conservation Department is a division of the Methuen Department of Economic and Community Development. The Conservation Commission has the responsibility of protecting the interests of the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act, MGL Chapter 131, s40 and the Methuen Wetlands Protection Ordinance, Chapter 12, M.C.M. These interests are: the protection of public and private water supply, flood control, wildlife habitat, storm damage prevention, prevention of pollution, land containing shellfish and fisheries. The local ordinance also protects the interests of recreation, water recharge areas, wildlife, erosion control, floodplains and aesthetics.

The Methuen Boat Ramp and Dock are NOW OPEN for the season. The ramp and dock are open daily from 5am until 9pm. For Information: Monday-Thursday, 8am-4:30pm, and Friday, 8am-Noon, please contact the Methuen Conservation Department at 978-983-8650.
