Emergency Management

 

Mission Statement: The City of Methuen's Department of Emergency Management will be responsible for an emergency management plan that prepares for public recovery and relieves and reduces human suffering following events of natural or man made disasters, catastrophes or threat thereof. The Department of Emergency Management will work in conjunction with State, Federal and Local authorities, including private entities and other municipalities surrounding the City of Methuen area when required and to develop, maintain and implement the Continuity of Operations of Government (COOP/COG) plans.

The Department of Emergency Management is prepared to activate and Emergency Operations Center during any major disaster to allow coordination of all support agencies to provide continuity of services to the public. The Department of Emergency Management is responsible for advertisement, notification and assembly of services that are in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Methuen and to prepare and distribute information and procedures governing the same.

MAYOR MANZI CALLS FOR EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT VOLUNTEERS

The Methuen Health Department and Emergency Management Department have developed a Special Assistance Registration Form to be completed by those citizens with special needs requiring help during emergency situations. Please print, fill out and submit the form to the Methuen Health Department at the address provided. Link to Special Assistance Registration Form

FEMA Homeowners Guide: The FEMA Homeowners Guide to Retrofitting is available on the second floor of the Nevins Library in the public documents section. The guide includes information on protecting your home from flooding as well as technical and financial assistance.
