The Methuen Transfer Station/Landfill is located on Huntington Avenue.

Yard Waste Pickup Suspended, August 1 - October 1  

CITY OF METHUEN SINGLE STREAM RECYCLING MAKES RECYCLING AS EASY AS POSSIBLE

The following items can be mixed together in your marked recycling container and placed outside on collection day:

Paper items: catalogues, magazines, phone books, newspapers with inserts, flattened cardboard boxes, all mail and paperback books, paper, paper bags, paperboard, (no soiled paper or pizza boxes)

Glass: bottles and jars (Rinse and remove lids/corks), (no broken glass, window or auto glass, dishes, glasses, Pyrex)

Metal: food/beverage cans, aluminum foil/pans, (no paint or aerosol cans)

Plastic: bottles/jars marked 1-7 in a triangle, milk/juice cartons, (no plastic bags, lids, motor oil, chemical containers, plastic toys, foam packaging or trash)

Please place all recyclables in your curbside container marked for recycling. Stickers are available at the DPW office. Pleace separate from trash on your recycling day. Questions and more info: 978-983-8545

NOTE: The City of Methuen does NOT pick up cardboard with regular trash pickup. Cardboard is picked up with recycling. Please call the DPW Office with any questions.

Senior Citizen Waste Disposal: White goods (appliances) and yard waste curbside pickup, along with disposal at the Transfer Station, are FREE OF CHARGE for Methuen senior citizens with proper identification. Information: Methuen DPW, 978-983-8545.

Transfer Station hours:
Monday - Friday: 7:00am - 2:00pm
Saturday: 8:00am - 2:00pm

Only Checks payable to City of Methuen are accepted for dumping fees at the Transfer Station. Cash is NOT accepted.
