Mission Statement : The Electrical Division is responsible for the enforcement of the Massachusetts Electrical Code. The primary purpose of any electrical code is to protect persons and property from hazards associated with the use of electricity. The Electrical Inspector is responsible for receiving and granting permits and scheduling inspections for all residential, commercial and industrial jobs. The Electrical Inspector is also responsible for the certification of hard wired smoke detector systems and assists the Fire Dept. in inspections of fires due to faulty electrical devices. Complaints and violations are investigated and corrected or reported to the proper authorities.
