Accounting Department
The Accounting Department is responsible for the accurate reporting of all financial transactions pertaining to this municipality. This office prepares its general-purpose financial statements using accounting principles that are in conformity with the Uniform Municipal Accounting System promulgated by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Revenue.

Assessing Department
The Board of Assessors in conjunction with the Department of Assessment is responsible for maintaining a list and description of every parcel of real property within the confines of the City. It is the job of the Board of Assessors and the Department to place a valuation on all real estate and personal property items (business equipment) within the City.

City Clerk
The City Clerk is the City’s chief election officer and head of the City's Department of Records, which includes City archives and vital records, and custodian of the city seal. The City Clerk administers the oath of office to City officials and performs all the duties of a municipal clerk as authorized under Massachusetts General Laws.

Conservation Division
The Conservation Department is a division of the Methuen Department of Economic and Community Development. The Conservation Commission has the responsibility of protecting the interests of the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act, MGL Chapter 131, s40 and the Methuen Wetlands Protection Ordinance, Chapter 12, M.C.M.

Public Works
