The City of Methuen has established a local preference for 70% of the affordable apartments. An applicant qualifies for local preference if the applicant or a member of their household fit into one of the following categories:
• a current resident of Methuen
• an employee of the City of Methuen
• an employee of a business located in Methuen, or those with a bona fide job offer from a business located in Methuen
• households with children attending Methuen Public School
