Office of the City Clerk

The Board of Registrars of Voters is made up of three members appointed by the Mayor and the City Clerk.  This Board has an annual meeting in the spring, in which it appoints “assistant registrars” to assist with such duties as registering citizens to vote and certifying signatures on nomination papers and petitions, and processing the Annual City Census returns for preparation of the Annual Register of Voters and publication of the annual Street Listing Book.  The Board is also responsible for counting properly accepted ballots that for various legal reasons cannot be counted at the polls on election day and overseeing and sitting as judges at recounts requested by candidates in elections.

The Board of Registrars of Voters is affiliated with the Office of the City Clerk, and its members can be contacted through that office.
